Society Meetings
The Wanneroo and Districts Historical Society (Inc.), Meetings are held the third Monday of the month at the Wanneroo Recreation Centre in Scenic Drive, Wanneroo, at 1.30 pm. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
The Wanneroo Historical Society was formed in 1989 and has maintained close contacts with the City of Wanneroo.
Wanneroo Council delegate Cr Jordan Wright and the President Cr Jacqui Huntley keep the Society informed of Council’s heritage and Museum activities and relays back Society activities events and programs.
Several members serve on Council Heritage Committees or are volunteers at Historic Cockman House and Buckingham House when open to the public.
Meeting business is usually fairly brief, as much of the behind-the-scenes work is dealt with by the Society’s Committee.
On Some Meetings the Society invites a guest speaker, who may speak or give a presentation about local or general history or any other subject of interest.
Society members are a friendly bunch and often attend local events in big or small numbers. Several members attend the State History Conference each year. Tours and bus outings are held from time to time throughout the year.
